Do New Episodes Increase Interest in Karate?
Well the quick answer is yes, new episodes of Cobra Kai does increase interest in Karate. This trend only started when Cobra Kai made the move from YouTube Premium to Netflix – Releases on YouTube Premium hardly made a difference to the interest in Karate, this will be due to the difference in users on each platform.
YouTube Premium Users – 50m (Jan 2021)
Netflix Users – 214m (Oct 2021)
The new season of Cobra Kai was released 31 Dec 2021, no doubt we’ll see another peak shortly (Google Trends are a few days behind)
Interestingly search trends for “Karate Kid” also peaks at the same time / level as “Karate” (Not surprising really)
